Bar & Bat Mitzvah Prep Classes
Every girl and boy who celebrates their Bar or Bat Mitzvah with Chabad receives one-on-one guidance from the Rabbi, as well as from our Bar and Bat Mitzvah specialists, young women for the girls and young men for the boys, to make sure she or he is 100% ready to shine on the big day.
Together, children explore both the meaning and the practical aspects of becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah, with every question welcomed, answered, and explored.
Preparing for the Torah Reading
Boys are prepared for their Torah reading, including the Berachot, Maftir, and Haftorah, building both confidence and command of the text.
Writing the Speech
Each child is provided with an outline and clear guidelines for writing their Bar or Bat Mitzvah speech. We then spend dedicated time helping the child develop, write, edit, and practice it so the words feel truly their own.
The Special Mitzvot
Girls are guided in the beautiful Mitzvot of lighting Shabbat candles and the Mitzvah of Challah.
Boys are guided in the daily Mitzvah of putting on Tefilin.
Walking Alongside Parents
Last but not least, the Rabbi remains in close touch with parents, helping guide them through the preparation as easily and joyfully as possible.
Together, Rabbi and family explore the questions that really matter, like “who’s more nervous, the parents or the child?” and “do we invite third cousin once removed, Ernie?”
